T.With the awards ceremony scheduled for November 16th, the US National Book Foundation today (September 14th) began announcing the long list for the 2021 National Book Awards. In three days he parses the announcements across five categories, as the program likes.
Finalists (shortlisted entries) will be named on October 4th.
The longlist provided to members of the news media today is from the National Book Awards for Youth Literature.
This is the first of five categories. Future plans:

The two authors previously honored by the National Book Awards on this list are: Tracy Chi A finalist in this category for 2020, Anna Marie McLemore, lIt was registered in this category twice, in 2016 and 2021.
Collectively, the authors and illustrators of this list have been awarded the Newbery Medal of Honor. Walter Honor. Honor of Prinz. Coretta Scott King Book Award. Ezra Jack Keats Award. Kirkus Prize for Young Readers Literature. Glyph Comics Awards. Stonewall Book Awards. and an Emmy Award.
Publishers have submitted a total of 296 books for the 2022 Youth Literature Division.
This time the judge is Becky Albertali, Joseph Bruchuk, Megan Dietche Goel, Jewel Parker Rose (Chair), Lilium Rivera.
