Demand for flexible online education has surged in recent years. From 2012 to 2019, the number of hybrid and distance-only students in traditional universities increased by 36%. In 2020, that number increased by another 92% due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
At Harvard Business School, one program, the Credential of Readiness (CORe) program, has become a popular choice for many seeking quality online business education. luck We recently discussed what the CORe program offers and why it has become one of the most popular programs in the field of online business education.
Business Fundamentals Program
Harvard’s CORe program is a business foundation program designed to give students a deeper understanding of fundamental business concepts, from analytics to finance. All courses are completed online, asynchronously and are designed for self-paced learning. This means that a student can choose to complete the program in her 10 or 17 weeks.
“By the end of the program, students will be able to prepare and evaluate financial forecasts, understand the financial position of companies through financial statements, develop pricing strategies, and analyze and interpret data to inform business decisions. In interviews with past CORe participants conducted by Harvard University, 80% of students reported that CORe was the best online business program they have taken. Additionally, 65% say that completing the program has made them more valued for their influence in the workplace. Eighty-nine percent said they could immediately apply their newly acquired skills at work, and 91% said they felt more confident at work.
Malachi Koop, a CORe graduate and now a senior consultant at EY-Parthenon, a Boston-based global strategy consulting firm, said the program helped him gain more solid experience in business concepts and eventually pursued an MBA. He said it helped push him to pursue it.
