An Etna woman started a home care business in Pickerington to help the elderly and people with disabilities stay in their homes as long as possible.
Pickerington City Hall and the Pickerington Area Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on August 1 at 12927 Stone Creek Drive in Suite B to celebrate Right at Home.
For owner Holly Holton, opening her own business has long been a goal. Her company believes it can provide a wealth of home care services for the elderly and disabled throughout Fairfield County and southern Franklin County.
Holton has 28 years of experience providing occupational therapy or post-acute care in the private sector. Her work includes providing skilled home care and home therapy as well as time in skilled nursing facilities.
“I opened an office in Light at Home so I can make a positive impact on seniors and adults with disabilities in the Pickerington area,” says Holton. “Healthcare is heading home … and everyone wants to stay home as long as they can. We can provide resources to help them.”

Holton says the company has 35 to 40 employees and expects that number to grow as customers grow.
Right at Home will be licensed by the Ohio Department of Health on October 1, following new state regulations that will take effect for nonmedical home care providers beginning October 1. .
She said the range of services provided by Right at Home is long, ranging from preparing meals and running errands to helping customers get dressed and traveling to appointments.

“We do home rehab, help people who have recently been hospitalized to go home, and we also provide specialized care for clients with Alzheimer’s and dementia. We can do anything from one shift to up to 24 shifts per week. /7 caring
