
Tucson, Arizona – The Pac-12 Conference announced the 24 recipients of the Pac-12 Graduate Scholarships for the 2021-22 academic year and the University of Arizona winners. Dana Parker (beach volleyball) and Trevor Volpe (Athletics) was among the 24 winners.
Scholarships, worth $9,000 each, will be awarded to up to two student-athletes from each Pac-12 school each year. These outstanding student-athletes maintained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 and demonstrated a commitment to teaching, campus and community involvement, and leadership.
Parker finished his fourth season in the Arizona Beach Volleyball program with a career record of 70-24. She won 19 in 2022 after her 18-3 mark in 2021 led to her AVCA top-flight certification. She also earned top flight honors as a freshman after her 25-5 record in 2019.
The Arizona head coach said, “I can’t think of anyone more deserving than Dana to receive this prestigious graduate award.” Steve Walker Said. “She put her all into every aspect of our beach volleyball program every day: in the sand, in the community, and in the classroom. I have.”
The Wildcats have been ranked in the AVCA Top 20 throughout her career, peaking at No. 8 and missing out on the NCAA Championship as a junior. As a freshman, Parker teamed with Habilis in her 25-5 record, her season record for the second-best single in Arizona history. The 25 wins is also her sixth-most record in a single season.
She graduated in 2022 with a degree in Global Health and is a three-time Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll recipient. She is pursuing a master’s degree in the nursing profession at the University of Arizona.
Trevor Volpe In 2021, I completed my MBA and MSBA in Business Analytics as part of my dual degree. He joined the coaching staff as a student assistant coach after his four-year career that included his PR of 60 (6.86), 100 (10.51) and 200. (20.91), 300 (35.23).

Volpe helped the 4×100 relay team finish third in the 2021 Pac-12 Track and Field Championships and qualify for the NCAA Division I West Qualifying Round.
When competing in the MPSF Championship in Seattle, Volpe organized an event where he and his teammates cooked breakfast for a local cancer treatment center. During his sophomore summer, he worked at Nike’s headquarters in Oregon as an intern on the creative operations and brand design teams.
To be selected for the 2021-22 Pac-12 Graduate Scholarship, student-athletes must have:
- Maintained a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00 across the faculty (based on a 4.00 scale).
- Be accepted as a full-time student or already enrolled in a graduate or professional program at an accredited institution, or a graduate program that requires a bachelor’s degree for admission.
- As a member of the national team, he achieved outstanding results.When
- Exemplary behavior, both competitive and non-competitive, in ways that have brought achievement to student-athletes, organizations, and intercollegiate athletics.
Student-athletes have been awarded this scholarship plan to pursue postgraduate education in best-in-class postgraduate programs at some of the world’s most prestigious institutions, including several Pac-12 universities. They learn everything from medicine and architecture to business, nursing, engineering, education, finance and more.
Created in 1999, the Graduate Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and financially support the conference’s most outstanding athletes and academics as they continue their education and prepare for careers in their chosen industries. Each year, Pac-12 awards up to 24 scholarships of $9,000 each to former and alumni student-athletes throughout the conference. Through the institution selection process, each Pac-12 institution can select two of her student-athletes to be awarded scholarships.
