Adoption of Urban Corp’s new location
San Diego County’s Urban Corps is recruiting at its new North County location in Escondido. If you are his 18 to 26 years old and want to work hard and get paid while getting your high school diploma, Urban Corps might be right for you. Interested parties can attend the information session on Monday at 9:30 am at 2200 Micro Place. No reservation required. Walk-ins welcome. Urban Corps is also looking for supervisors to help train and supervise its personnel. Auto club honors local businesses
Jonathan’s Towing in Escondido was recently named Battery Service Provider of the Year by the Southern California Automobile Club. The award is based on outstanding member service achievements, including involvement in auto his club’s programs and initiatives, and community leadership. The company is one of his 30 service providers who have been honored at the Auto Club’s annual Service Awards Luncheon. Several other area providers have won the Five Diamond Club Roadside Service Award. In 2021, he received ‘excellent ratings’ in three categories: overall satisfaction, service driver satisfaction and response time satisfaction. They are El Cajon’s California traction and recovery. Foundation names new president
San Diego-based Warrior Foundation Freedom Station recently appointed Andrew Gasper as president. This organization provides sick and injured veterans with quality-of-life items, support services, and temporary housing during recovery. Gaspar will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, fundraising, directing programs and services, and providing transition support to those living at Freedom Station facilities. Gasper’s 20+ year career includes serving as a military police officer in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a private sector sales/financial manager, recovery care and career and education at his USMC Wounded Warrior Battalion-West in San Diego. EV company opens store in North City
SirrJohn Moto, an electric car company founded by San Diego native Sajad Ahmadi, has opened a store in the North City neighborhood near Cal State San Marcos. The shop offers electric vehicle options including ZERO brand scooters, bikes and motorcycles. Founded in 2018, SirrJohn Moto aims to reduce the planet’s carbon footprint and provide alternative transportation. He also donates 15% of his annual net sales to organizations that help children and families around the world. The shop is located at 251 North City Drive, Unit 121.
