AANA Foundation Rita LeBlanc Philanthropist of the Year Award awarded to Jackie Rowles

Newswise — Rosemont, Illinois — The American Academy of Nursing Anesthesiology (AANA) Foundation has announced the Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist (CRNA). Jackie Rowles, DNP, MBA, MA, CRNA, ANP-BC, NSPM-C, FNAP, FAANA, FAAN, Received the Rita LeBlanc Philanthropist of the Year Award at the AANA 2022 Annual Meeting, August 12-16 in Chicago.

The Rita LeBlanc Philanthropist of the Year Award is given to individuals who have donated time, talent, and direct financial support beyond their obligations as supporters of the AANA Foundation. The recipient exhibits a strong sense of charity and her actions motivate others to give of themselves.

“Winning the 2022 AANA Foundation’s Rita L. LeBlanc Philanthropist of the Year Award is one of the greatest honors of my career, and it means a lot to me because I knew Rita. I am blessed with the many CRNA supporters and donors who are making a difference in the lives of anesthesia nurses around the world and the communities they serve. Rawls said.

Rowles is a former AANA President (2009-2010) and former AANA interim secretary general currently in his fifth term as president of the International Federation of Nursing Anesthesiologists (IFNA). Additionally, she has held numerous leadership roles at the state and national level. She has also served as a volunteer director and board member of the G4 Alliance (Global Alliance for Surgery, Obstetrics, Trauma and Anesthesia), the American Academy of Pain Management, and the Alliance of Nursing Organizations. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the World Association of Anesthesiologists and the Global Manpower Workgroup. She also volunteers as an adult nurse at Trinity Free Clinic in Carmel, Indiana.

She is the founder of Our Hearts Your Hands, Inc., a non-profit charity that provides academic and continuing education, books, and equipment to anesthesiologists in low-income countries. To date, Our Hearts Your Hands has offered her 14 educational scholarships to anesthesiologists in 6 African countries.

Rowles holds a PhD in Nursing Practice with a specialization in Anesthesiology from the University of Barry. Postmaster’s Certificate – Adult Nursing Assistant (ANP) from Ball State University. Nurse Anesthesia Certificate from Truman Medical Center School of Nurse Anesthesia. She holds a master’s degree in biology from the University of Missouri. She holds an MBA from Memphis State University (now the University of Memphis). She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ball State University. She is a highly sought-after speaker, has spoken at many conferences at the state and national level, and has contributed to many books in the field of nurse anesthesiology.
